Meet the SLA Staff !

Kayte, Office and Outreach Assistant

Kayte began working at SLA in 2010. At the office, she helps with camping reservations and SLA mailings like the Loon Flyer. She also coordinates SLA events and volunteer efforts. When not at her desk at SLA headquarters, she's usually tutoring or playing outside. Kayte tutors all kinds of subjects, but SAT and study skills are her specialties. Outside is definitely her favorite place to be. Free time for Kayte usually involves sports like rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, running, or doing yoga. If not playing sports, then Kayte is likely wrapped up with something artistic like writing, knitting, or painting.

Rebecca, Research Associate

Rebecca started working for the SLA as Research Associate in May of 2008, just a few days after completing her BA in Chemistry at Wheaton College in Norton, MA. Rebecca works for the SLA in partnership with Plymouth State University, where she is enrolled in the Environmental Science and Policy Masters Program. When she's not working on the lake pulling milfoil, monitoring the water quality, or working on her masters, she enjoys riding her motorcycle, sailing, running, skiing or snowmobiling.

Jenne, Youth Program Manager

Jenne started working for the SLA as the Youth Program Manager in March 2008. Her main responsibility during the summer season is coordinating the Junior Squam Lakes Association (JSLA), Community Youth Sailing Program (CYSP) and the Squam Conservation Corps (SCC) day camps. During the off season months she works within the Squam Lakes watershed schools and communities in conservation education programing. Outside of work, she can be found hiking, gardening, skiing or working on anything crafty, especially re-purposing and restoring old stuff in need of repair.

Brett, Director of Recreation

Brett graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1996. He worked designing remediation systems cleaning up polluted sites all around the country and installing natural gas pipelines. After a short stint teaching Mathematics to 7th and 8th graders in the Boston area he moved to Plymouth NH to be closer to the mountains and lakes he loves. When he first arrived to the area he worked building log and timber framed homes before coming to the SLA. Brett is currently working on projects as varied as designing new compost toilet systems, and boardwalks across swamps to pulling milfoil, renting boats, and reconstructing trails, when he is not at the lake you can find him in the mountains.

 Priscilla, Office Manager

Priscilla is the first person you will see or talk to when it comes to the front office. She has been with the SLA for nine years. Priscilla performs a variety of tasks here from bookkeeping to registering campers for JSLA, CYSP and SCC.  She is efficient at keeping the office functioning and not to mention the life of the party here!  In her spare time she can be found gardening, walking her puppy-dogs, rug hooking and running.

Chris, Executive Director

Chris has been with the SLA for over ten years. While he may be the Executive Director, Chris still finds time to escape his desk and help out with a multitude of other projects around the SLA.  He can be found discussing the budget and repairing the snowmobile all in one day.  His unique skill set makes him an indispensable individual here.  When Chris is not at work you can find him doing one of three things:  out on the golf course, somewhere on the water or skiing the slopes.
